Week 7
Fusion 360: 3D object using my initial Alvis Wang On Yuen 2.5d model The layout is slightly too large to fit on an A4 page therefore it is done in 1:1.5 scale. Photographs - Light & Scale: I added the scaled person in through Photoshop. In order to create realistic shadows with the light shining through I duplicated the layer and adjusted the opacity to form the shadows.
Week 5/6
1. 1:100 paper model of my room It looks messy as I had to join the parts with tape because I was not able to make a template on paper and perform the folding techniques due to the large scale. 2. 1:20 cardboard model of my room Generally cardboard is easier to work with as it has a stronger structure which makes it easier to glue together. I have also reduced the scale to 1:20 which allows me to layout a template to do the folding technique shown in the video tutorial. Folding Techniques: Simple spirals Basic pleats X-form spans New version of my room: I decided to use the models from the folding technique practice as parts of my room expansion because I really like the patterns the create. The layers in the simple spiral looks stairs as I stretched them. The cylinder shape that the x-form span could form became a roof for the room. And I used the basic pleats part of the interior.
